  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Health & Safety management Plan, specific to the project.
  • Communicate with the local Department of Labor during inspections.
  • Conducting and coordinating of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, SWP’s and relevant documentation required by the client.
  • Ensure that compliance to the plan specific requirements of Audits and surveillance are carried out.
  • Stop work that is carried out in an unsafe manner.
  • Responsible for determining Health & Safety training requirements and record keeping.
  • Responsible for reporting and completing reports.
  • Maintain accurate site statics on manpower, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Support and guide site supervision in their daily duties and ensuring full compliance to task hazards and work assessments.
  • Participate in weekly meetings by addressing the necessary statistics and other matters in the health & Safety portion of the meeting.
  • Lead by example to be the standard on site, for example: wearing the correct PPE.
  • Ability to conduct induction training and Toolbox talks
  • Verify suitability of contractors’ HSE plans, and monitor compliance
  • Analyze and report on H&S performance and advice on appropriate action
  • Conduct investigations into incidents and dear misses
  • Check conformance of construction plant to statutory requirements and regulations.
  • Conduct H&S walkabouts and direct corrective actions.
  • Implement a Waste Management Plan
  • Complies with clients’ expectations and requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

    • 2 – 5 + years Experience
    • HSE Diploma / Equivalent
    • SAMTRAC / Equivalent
    • Must be SACPCMP Registered
